DynaPath Model 16X Lathe
This 16" swing x 59" between centers engine lathe is the perfect investment for operations needing to modernize their turning operations but not yet ready to make the investment into a full fledged CNC turning center. With a 10" chuck, 7.5 hp spindle and constant surface feed rate standard, the DynaPath 16 can be productive from the first day of operation. When combined with optional automatic tool turrets, power-chucks, chip conveyors and other accessories, it makes an investment in the DynaPath 16X one you can grow with.

 

Features:
  • Rigid single-piece bed casting featuring two vee and two flat ways, all hardened and ground.
  • Precision high speed spindle mounted on two taper bearings in front and a high speed bearing in the rear for support.
  • Constant surface speed headstock control providing infinite speeds to 2500 rpm.
  • All gears and shafts are hardened and ground. Large diameter precision ball screw and nut assemblies on X and Z axis, with metal covers.
  • T-slotted compound for easy mounting of optional tool posts.
  • Model 16X CNC 2 axis lathe may be used as a conventional (manual) lathe utilizing dual handwheels or as a full two axis CNC.
  • Full sheet metal enclosure to keep coolant and chips off the floor.
  • Standard removable steady rest and follower.

Designed for turning a range of parts including shafts or rolls for the paper, printing, textile, agricultural and other industries; this machine can also be used for large diameter facing. Constant Surface Speed is standard.

Menu Driven CNC Programming
The Model 16 uses the new Delta 2000 control. It provides both conversational shop floor programming as well as the ability to receive off-line generated programs. Standard features include expanded memory, buffered input, Conversational graphics, hard drive program storage and more. The Model 16 can be operated manually with the two pulse generators. These can also be used to create programs directly using the "Learn mode" in the DynaPath control.
  • DynaPath Delta 2000 CNC Control. Full 2-Axis contouring capability for lathe operations.
  • Conversational programming with "fill in the blanks" style data entry.
  • Download "G" Code (EIA) files from CAD/CAM systems

 

Auto Lube
Each Model 16 has a complete automatic lube oil system. Electrically powered to deliver oil to the ways, ball screws and other critical items. Oil delivery amount and timing can be adjusted based on working conditions. System has audible low oil level indicator.
Operator Station
Full enclosure with sliding doors for full access to any portion of the work area. Operator controls, both manual pulse generators and CNC DynaPath control are mounted on sliding door for ease of adjustment. Gear box control with three speed ranges is on the right side for fast changes. Note electrical interlock on door is standard.
Way Surfaces
  • Bed width is 13" for maximum tool and work support.
  • All machine ways are hardened and ground for long accurate life.
  • All way surfaces are oil lubricated with an automatic lube oil system.
Machine Construction
The base, cross slide and saddle are certified MeehaniteR castings that have been stress relieved. The heavily ribbed bed casting has vibration-dampening characteristics, very important for machine rigidity and accuracy.
